Extra,Extra!!!

Extra Extra!

Just out today!!! The Autumn 2008 edition of Somerset Life! Meet up with old friends and get to know new ones in this beautiful fall issue!

If you love strolloing thru beautiful gardens you MUST visit Clarice Fox-Hughes. Viewing her garden, in this issue, is as if you are there, soaking up the warm sun and all of the beautiful aromas of her garden. As you turn the pages there are paper dolls, beautiful packaging... Every page brings new feasts for your eyes. How do they do it in every single issue!!! Instead of linking you to these web sites today, I am going to let you discover these talented women for yourself. You will "ooo" and "Ahhh" as your mind swirls with the beauty and talent in this issue and behind the scenes of Somerset Life.
Well, here is one gal who sends Thanksgiving thanks early to the Stampington Team, especially Jenny Doh. Thank you for finding me and OH THANK YOU for bring us this wonderful publication, Somerset LIfe.

This is a special project I was thrilled to be involved with!!! I decided upon a tote bag and combined my love of embroidery.

And to be green, I used vintage material for the handles and edging fabric :)

i like this one for detail shot, but cant really see bird maybe

Jenny, thank you so very much for encouraging us all to challenge ourselves, not just in projects that are feasts for our eyes, but also those projects that feed the hearts of those in need! Cheers to you and Maurine!!!

With Love,
Mary

Hi Mary,

I wanted to answer your questions about the bottle brush trees, but am lacking an email address, so I will just leave it here for you.

You *probably* can use other brands of trees. It looks like the photos from last year's group in Flickr certainly use other trees. My first batch I did use ones with the snow on them, but do be aware that the snow doesn't always completely melt off in the bleach, so those might not be the best ones if you are doing a Halloween version. (Obviously that is fine for Christmas!) I haven't yet tried wreaths because I couldn't find a large amount of them, but they will work the same way and they are on my to do list for this year!

Hope that helps.

Cheers
Sarah

P.S. You can see the pastel ones in the link on the sidebar that says pastel bottle brush trees tutorial, in case you missed those.

Mary, This is an absolutely beautiful bag. So sweet and refreshing. It has the wonderful look of summer coming and all of us here in the cold temps of N.E. trade in our wools for cotton clothing.

It is just perfect.
