A Well Set Table?

A Collection

Actually I am hoping this collection becomes "A Well Set Wall". I have been collecting pretty plates for many years. Sloooowly, mind you. I only like what I like. Several of these plates are gifts given to me by my daughter and her boyfriend and my Mom and her husband. (sadly, my Dad has passed on and, the man that got my Mom's heart next has also passed on.)

A Gift

But the point of this Beauty, this princess of a plate is that my Mom thought of me when she found it :) Don, her second husband was very generous to gift us with treasures that came from his life with his first wife, who had also passed away. Any time that my Mom and Don came across things that they thought someone could take and treasure or use they gifted them. :)

This next GROUP are all the same, stacked FOUR high :) My Sweet Daughter gave these to me : ) She really selects gifts extremely well! They came from Anthropologie.

A Present

A Prayer

The plate above came as a wonderful surprise. I have wanted just such a lovely plate of "thankfulness" for some time. The hubby and I were on our way to do errands one Saturday when we came across a HUGE estate sale. Too big to pass by! I had no cash, he, so his story goes, had a few dollars. After $1 for this plate and another $1 spent on an old Children's book for my sister, Amy, and some broken jewelery pieces we made it out! I stress that we "made it out" for we had no more dough, dinero, no more money, honey! And it started to rain. On the way to the car, I found another treasure, which while in the car the hubby "discovered" $10! Just the right amount for a vintage rocker!!! I will show you this coming up as I want to do a before and after of this. Ok, I must confess. I was very happy not having any cash with us. Well, maybe I was happy because the plate was $1 and the book for my sister was a quarter! I hope she likes it! I will show that later also.

A Souvenier

I do love this pretty plate that I found many years ago. It has spent time in a hutch above a desk. Say, any one live near Larchwood? Or have you visited there??? It must be something great!!!

A FIND

The very pretty "pink", above, is a thrift store find with my daughter:) It was a very nice deal! I do love it. Sometimes Caitlin has to talk me into things. Yep! I can get VERY practical... as in do I need more dishes? What if I do not love it forever? Now that is a good question, but really!!!

A Kindness

The oh so pretty "leaf" plate is another gift form Caitlin! Oh, and from Anthropologie. I love it!

A Find

I have three of these little strawberry plates. Cute:)

A Start

The rose plate came from an antique mall years ago, like 1996!!! I was going to try my hand at mosaics from plates. Of course I did not have the heart to break it, even though the very sweet woman, Eileen, advised me of the chip that it had before I purchased it. She wanted me to know that and I said it was fine. I remember her name for I have another BEAUTIFUL item form her booth! A treasure, for me. I will also show this at a later time... too much sweetness and we may faint!
Ok, that is it. Are you still standing? Tooo much sugar? NAW! :)

Hugs,
Mary

What beautiful plates. I love hanging plates on a wall. I have blue and white plates hanging in my diningroom, and similar to your plates, each of my plates has a history.
I love your blog!

Wonderful. I am enjoying looking at your blog. I am just now starting to paint (mostly white) my own stuff and am glad to see some inspiration...you are so talented. Also sent my pal to your Etsy site for the mini chandeliers. GORGEOUS.

Such a wonderful collection of pretty vintage plates Mary!

Btw has Colin/Pearl found a new home yet?

Warmest wishes sends you

Colin/ Pearl is now named Pearl. She has a new home, at a shelter. There were only about 3 adult cats there and i am hoping that Pearl gets chosen by A.D.O.P.T. or several other shelters that work with this one to find homes for the wonderful cats.
Thank you Carol!

Beautiful plates all around that table, Mary! I love plates, too. If I had the space, I would buy so many sets of dishes/china! So, having a smaller home keeps me in check! Thanks for sharing your finds and your gifts.
