Shake, Rattle & Roll Over and Go Back To Sleep!

soothing soda

It was a long, very long night, preluded with an even longer day. Caitlin was exhausted as well as myself. We do not get sick that often here, so when Cailtin came down with the flu yesterday it was a duzy. In moments away from Caitlin, I sealed the new laundry room floor and grout twice, wihich requires buffing it dry! Who needs a gym membership!? So when she wanted to continue sleeping downstairs in the livingroom I was disappointed. My big, soft bed was calling to me. But of coarse my heart heard her soft call ..." please seep down here with me Mom". Her temp was very high and she still was very sick. Finally she fell asleep.

Handsome Hobbes

There were MANY distractions from sleep, the hubby who instisted that the dishwaher be ran, it beeps when it is finished, over and over, until I shut it off. Then there is the son who had the chance to go out with his good friend Dan.. I insist upon worrying about him getting home safe. So when the couch is shaking and Cailtin is asking me what is happening and I first think earthquake, then no, I think your dad is doing something upstairs (like stumbling around in his sleep like a giant??). The windows are rattlling and the beautiful platter in the bay window is rattling... we both decide, in our exhasted state, that the storm is coming and we roll over and go back to sleep. This was at 4:30ish a.m. Ha, I was so tired I thought it was 2a.m. All I cared about was that Doug, my son, was safe in his bed from his night out with his friend.

"goodnight", I mean good morning!
Hugs,
Mary

Same here! I first thought my husband was 'doing something in the basement' then I thought "nope, its an earthquake" and rolled over and went to sleep!
4:30 just like you said.
Mama is home, thanks, and I gave her a haircut yesterday outside on the warm patio!
Thanks for the purchase :)Hope Caitlin gets well quickly.

I saw another blogger talking about the earthquake. Scary! We had a teensy tiny one in CT (yes CT!) a few years back and my first thought was that there was a wild animal on the roof! Hope Caitlin is feeling better.

When you are sick, nothing does the trick like Vernor's, even if it is rattling off the table.
