One More Christmas Wreath

Here is a wreath that I made quite a few years ago. It is made with all new bulbs and most of them are breakable... not advisable! I finally repaired/replaced the broken bulbs just days before Christmas (2007)! I love it and it is still one, ya one, of my favorites.
Did I tell you that I carried a wreath instead of a bouquet for my wedding. Wreaths hold a bit of symbolism. The most predominant being that when made of evergreens, the most popular material, they represent strength of life. Hmm, this wreath is mostly made up of breakable bulbs! Perhaps that is to say that the love we share for the holidays should not be taken for granted but given also throughout the year. Love can be fragil and strong. When we stick together, wreath/circle, we are stronger...love makes us stronger, through good and bad, sickness and in health.

Hello Mary,
I love this wreath! Very soft colors and just the right mix of ornament shapes. Carrying a wreath sounds so very lovely! I wish I had thought of that! I finally had a chance to really look at my copy of Somerset Life. What a wonderful article! You contributed a beautiful piece!
Hugs,
Karla

Hi Mary, I was so happy to have you visit my blog because now here I am at yours. And I read every word of it. The things you make are just gorgeous. And I loved the story of the wreath. The wreath I put on my front door was made of boxwood by the ladies at my church. It was so big and fat. I loved it and couldn't bare to take it down after Christmas so I decorated it for Valentines. I hope it's okay that I added your blog on my sidebar because I know so many would love to read it. ~ Smiles ~ Lynn

How brave to use breakable ornaments, but they do make the prettiest wreathes.

It's beautiful! I'm making one for next year. Now is a good time to collect ornaments from the thrift stores since people are purging and organzing for the new year.
