Victoria Reigns Again

I believe it was Andrea OR Holly who first clued us in that Victoria was coming back to us. I recieved official notice that she indeed IS!!! You can find her HERE!
Victoria introduced to me some important people, like Kath Kidtson. Her style influenced me to slowly add color. I also LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the floral slipcovers she has in her car, or rather she used to. Of coarse there were other things that led me to color also but she was instrumental. I do not know if I will ever be able to get away from Rachel Ashwell's design sensibilities because that is truly where my own personal style had been before I new of her. BUT she let me know that it was "OK" to have an all white room, florals in soft pinks and greens. And of coarse-let's add a chandelier to the laundry room! : ) She really taught me to listen to my instincts. As Judy Garland said "Why be a second rate version of someone else, when you can be a first rate version of yourself."
My dream job truly would be to work within Rachel's company. For all of you out there who are superb writers-perhaps Victoria Magazine is your dream job.! Oh let us not forget the BEAUTIFUL PHOTOGRAPHY for all of you photo -pros!!!
*NOTE: I have already been doing my first dream job, I was able to be a Mom! For me, the greatest job ion the world!!! : )

This is good news indeed! I have thumbed through my back issues until I just about have them memorized.

I have had some wonderful dream jobs, travelling and staying at luxurious hotels to paint murals, writing articles, other things I never thought I would do- but nothing compares to my kids and my grandbaby! If you think raising kids was great, wait till you are a grandma, it is the best ever!!!!

What a nice posting, I enjoyed the sentiments in it and have similar points of views on those designers. Yay, Victoria!!!

Very nice post! I was in on Victoria all the way until they modernized it shortly after 2000. I felt like I lost an old friend.

The periodical truly taught me to appreciate beauty in all of it's forms. And most of all Victoria encouraged me to celebrate feminity, homekeeping, and the little details of life! When I first heard that it was making a comeback, I flew to the reservation desk! I am so excited!

If you feel so inclined, I am celebrating my first month of blogging (yippee!) and I'm having a Coffee Bean Giveaway on my site.

Best Blessings,
kj

Can't wait for this magazine, I have bunches of the old ones and I love to look through them all the time. I have been studying the Rachel Ashwell design books and although I have always loved shabby chic..I didn't quite realize how simple her "true" style is until pouring through the books and actually reading them and not just looking at the pictures! I have been having so much fun and really am falling in love with the "true" shabby chic style. Although...I have a tendency to collect things...that is a problem in keeping things as simple as she likes..lol.

sorry for such a long post... :) Hope you are having a wonderful day! Heather
