A Summer Supper!

Proto-type boxes

I actually made a "summer supper" last night! Doug brought home tomatoes grown by his bosses MOM! They are big and juicy beef steaks I think! In honor of the tomatoes...I made dinner with them! Sorry no picks..although I had time to..a FEDX run by the hubby slowed down the dinner to a simmer. I sauted in olive oil: red onion, then garlic, added several of the beautiful chopped tomoates and added spinach. Then, while I waited for the hubby's return, I decided to add some wine and basil and oregano from the garden. Oh! I also had some mushroom and cheese ravioli from the freezer. After it was cooked I added it to the large saute pan. We used fome nice wide brimmed bowls and added either feta or parmessean cheese. It looked beautiful and it tasted very nice. Light and fresh! The basis for this meal is one of my favorite summertime meals. Next time I will take pictures!

The above pictures are of some new boxes I am making. The tops are still in design. They do have lace on the top though. I have made many round boxes over the years. My first ones were little round beauties and entirely made by me. Not by choice. I even called a die cutter who thought I was crazy!. Many trades men throughout the years have thought this of me! "You want to do WHAT???!!!?? They would say. I love boxes, especially round ones. So as you may notice...I am really on top of my designs for spring, OR still stuck in summer! Where oh where did summer go??? HAVE YOU SEEN IT?

On a very very sad note, for all of us who love Alicia Paulson, her sweet Audrey has passed on. I have learned the true vlaue of family pets since moving to this home, this neighborhood, where almost every single home has at least one pet. My heart goes out to she and her husband and also to all of you who have lost a beloved pet. Wishing you sweet memories.

The boxes are so cute. Sounds like you had a really yummy supper. I agree - summer has gone by much too quickly.

I was so saddened when I first heard about Audrey and have been praying for Alicia and Andy since. So sad to lose a pet, they truly are a part of the family.

Love your new boxes.
So very sad to lose a pet. We did 2 years ago, and it is still sad.

The dinner sounds delicious, especially that sauce!! And the boxes are beautiful, now I'm yearning for Spring ;)
When I found out about Audrey I was so heartbroken for Alicia and Andy, I could tell that she wasn't just a dog, she was part of the family. Sending my prayers to the Paulsons.
