The sun is out today! Some how the sun can negate the fact that it is 1 below, 9 below with the wind chill...I guess it is not very windy out today! I am always so thankful for a sunny day! We are lucky, I think, to have our front widows facing south and the fact that our home, while a traditional Georgian style on the outside, has a very welcoming open floor plan inside. We still have a dining room but it is open to the foyer. Our front living room is also open to the foyer and all so to the back living room via beautiful paned French sliding doors. The back living room is mostly open to the kitchen table and kitchen and there are two hallways extending from front to back of the home. Plenty of light streams in from the large windows and glass doors in the back.
The day we walked into our home for the first time I loved it. Light was streaming in and everything was white! Just like we asked our Realtor for!
I so appreciate our home this time of year even more so. Any light we are given during the day has every opportunity to come in. Today the light is streaming way over and into the shelves in the dining room holding these tea cups. I just dug them out of the basement where they have been sitting, waiting for me to return them to their rightful place once again. Caitlin, Douglas and I would have "Tea Parties" with these cups. We drank hot cocoa, dined on Pepperidge Farm cookies, and tried to mind our manners while laughing. It was great fun.
I hope that the sun is streaming into your home and work place today!

Hugs,
Mary

P.S. Thank you very much for all of your help with my crochet project! Your support is so appreciated!!!
p.s. the crocheting is coming along quite well!!! (at least i think so :)

Looks are deceiving, aren't they?!! You look out the window and think "Oh, I can go without a jacket today!" Then you step out and quickly run back in crying! Teehee! That cold air stings!

Lets have some more hot chocolate and cookies!

I' glad the sun is shinning your away today Mary. I'm not sure I could adjust to the weather in your neck of he woods, but I bet it's beautiful inside and out with the white all around you.

Ohhh the light was shining for us today too. It "almost" felt like a spring day with the birdis chirping. Love your collection of little cups.
