"The Weather Outside Is Frightful"

Brrrrrr!!! What happened!
On Monday we reached the 50's! Last evening we were in the high 40's at the 4 o'clock hour. Two hours later we were in the 20's! It is now, at 5:30 a.m., -2. But that is not the the real issue. It is the WIND! We are the "Windy City" and we are given reminders of this several times every season. The wind chill will be in the -30's today. It is bitterly cold. The wind plays havoc with visibility also! The snow outside of our home last night was going horizontal!

Watch this!!! Especially when the button is 1/3 of the way into the news piece featuring Dan Ponce` news spot.

My second story today involves a very cute rascal! Here he is:
King of The Jungle!

I had some errands to run but had only gotten about a mile away when I realized that I forgot something. I turned around. Two streets away from home my neighbors son, Tim was driving towards me and stopped to say hello... And that I left my front door open! Ahhh! It blew open! It does that when it is not closed properly. I started thinking of how far Hobbes could have gotten in the several minutes since I left. I knew he was right in the entrance hall when I left! As I drive up the little "hill", our home comes into view. There on the front porch, SITTING LIKE A LION OVERLOOKING HIS KINGDOM, is Hobbes. The Fearless king sees me coming and without hesitation he takes a dive for the open door!! (yes the door is STILL open.. there are two people home, inside, somewhere!!!) It was very funny!!!! He knew he should not be outside! The rascal. He did not leave his thrown slowly, he left it with lightening speed and kept going until he reached the top of the stairs, in his usual perch. As if to appear like he was there the whole time! heehhe. I am so glad that he did not want to get his feet wet in the flower beds around the porch!!!

ooo! I am working on a couple of necklaces and NEW chandeliers! I am planning on showing them on Friday :)
Bundle up my neighbors!!!

Thank goodness Hobbes knew his mommy would not be happy if he left the porch! I know what you mean about wind - it can be colder then cold and still be okay until you throw wind into the mix. Stay warm!
Hugs,
Karla

Hobbes does not look like a dumb kitty, so he probably wouldn't have travelled far ;-) You all stay warm! It'll pass soon.

Your Hobbs looks like the younger, quicker brother to my Rowdy Boy. He never scoots in a hurry, but rather just barely puts a hitch in his giddy up. So cute, these lil cubs! All I have to say to Rowdy when he looks outside is " hey where do you think your going Mr.?" and he hustles his slowly hustle back into our scrappy room... that's right, I share my room with two old cats. We are quite good roommates after so long!

I can't believe how cold it is where you are. I am cold here and it's like 37 in the mornings lately.
Hobbes is so cute. My friend's cat is also named Hobbes.
Can't wait to see your new creations.
Stay warm,
Rosemary

Oh how well I know that trick..."nothing mommy, just cleaning my fur..." There are any number of alternates, and I love them all. The red cats are the best! Or the worst, depending on how you feel...! Kim

It's amazing how those little kitties realize how well they have it! I accidentally left the gate open on our fence in our back yard for the ENTIRE day in the summer! We have two dogs, big ones, and they NEVER left! Now that is pure love and devotion...
Warmest blessings,
Amy :)

You Hobbes looks so much like our dearly-departed Kitty. He was such a sweetheart and such a friendly cat. He used to come for walks with us around the neighborhood...well part way. He would walk as far as the corner and then sit and wait for us until we returned.

The wind seems like nothing compared to the snow we got today! Have you dug out yet???
